Forestry & Logging in the UK Industry Data and Analysis

MG
Martha Garcia Guerrero
Analyst London, United Kingdom January 2026

The Forestry and Logging industry's revenue is set to contract at a compound annual rate of 2.4% over the five years through 2025-26, owing to persistently sluggish downstream markets, particularly in construction and manufacturing. However, revenue is also being affected by falling timber prices, which surged in 2022-23, and have since mostly stabilised, dragging down revenue, despite no major falls in actual production volume. The Forestry and Logging industry's revenue is estimated to rise by 0.2% in 2025-26 to total £1.8 billion, with the average industry profit margin set to be 15%. Revenue is expected to swell in 2024-25 as a result of persistently high timber prices and climbing  downstream demand for commercial forests, as well as continued government support. Profit is also set to inch up as key input prices like seeds and pesticides — which surged in 2022-23 — continue to normalise in 2025-26.
