Jewelry wholesalers have faced significant volatility in recent years. The price of precious jewelry is directly tied to the cost of materials such as gold, silver and precious or semi-precious stones. Commodities like gold and silver experienced sharp price swings in 2025, with increases of 37.7% and 30.5%, respectively. During times of economic instability, buyers often move toward perceived safe-haven investments, such as gold, to protect their assets. Because wholesalers act as intermediaries and operate on relatively slim profit, they typically pass these cost increases on to buyers. Although higher prices have reduced sales volumes, they have supported strong revenue growth in recent years.
